LOCOMOTIVE CONSTRUCTION

Below are construction photos of my Little Engines Pacific 4-6-2 live steam locomotive. This locomotive was started in September 2000 and the first running on steam December 7, 2011. I consider this engine a freelance Pacific not modeling it after a particular locomotive, rather just give it the look of a USRA heavy Pacific. The engine number "824" is in reference to my Dad's birthday, August 24. Dad always  showed great interest in the hobby and was always updated with my progress. Unfortunately, Dad passed away in February 2009 and never got to see the engine run.  Originally, the engine number was going to be "343", honoring the New York City Firefighters that perished on September 11, 2001. So to still honor the Firefighters, the builder plates, located on either side of smoke box, bears the serial number "343".
